Life Kit from NPR – These are short and are on random topics related to day to day life. Sort of life hacks meets advice show. You can scan the list and find a topic where you’d like some basic advice. I recently listened to the one on cleaning schedules and actually picked up a few tidbits (uh, does anyone else clean the room clockwise?!?)
Throughlines – This one has a pretty cool premise. “The past is never the past…join us every week as we go back in time to understand the present.” I’ve listened to one about the first impeachment of a U.S. President (Andrew Johnson) and to one about how employer-provided healthcare because our system for health insurance. So far both have been fascinating and both ended up being really relevant to where we are now.

Manhunt Deadly Games from Netflix – If you like a little true crime show mixed with a situation many of us were alive to remember, this one is amazing. I grew up in Georgia. I live in Atlanta. I love the north Georgia/south Tennessee/south North Carolina mountain region. And I thought I knew a lot about the Centennial Olympic Park bomber investigation and the hunt for Eric Robert Rudolph. This second season of Manhunt is outstanding and I learned things I never knew about the tragic way Richard Jewel was treated or the way that Eric Robert Rudolph eluded the authorities.
