Challenger: Final Flight – Like most people my age, I remember precisely where I was the day of the Challenger disaster, and every January 28 I think back to that morning. In recent years, I had the privilege of hearing the story and faith journey of the daughter of the pilot, Michael Smith. She happens to be part of the school community in which I work and her story of how that morning impacted her life changed mine. This is a Netflix limited docu-series and it includes detailed interviews with families, NASA employees, contractors, and detailed analysis of the investigation that followed the disaster. It is extraordinarily well done.
Podcasts
How To Be A Better Human – I believe this is a new podcast and it is excellent. I listened to the first full episode, “How to Cultivate Resilience and Get Through Tough Times.” The interview style is great so this could very well be a great one to follow. This particular episode is really well done and applies really well to the world we are all living in right now in 2021.
“A Simple Choice parts 1 and 2“ on Terrible Thanks for Asking – I have included this podcast as a fave in the past. It really is a good one…even if it is heavy and makes me cry sometimes. All that to say, this two-part episode is one of the best two podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Get your Kleenex ready. This one is touching, heartbreaking, and sad. But so worthy of listening. Norah does an exquisite job of interviewing in a situation that is really heartbreaking and the people involved are so candid that it is a gift. This is a hard one, but it is one you need to listen to.
