I didn’t know what a black and white view of our world I had until I walked the journey of life after a marriage fails. In the weeks, months, and now years along this path, God has graciously given me glimpses of His truth, His goodness, and His covenantal love for me. On this road I never wanted to walk, the truth of how He never abandons us has becoming deafeningly clear. The goodness of God has shown up in the many ways He has provided. His love for me – for all of us – has stood inside and alongside me during some of the hardest days of this single parent life.
In this, He’s shown me that in this broken world, life is too messy to be boiled down to the simplistic black and white view I’d taken of life and faith. We humans mix it all up and create these shades of gray. It is this gray that creates uncomfortable spaces for me.
But it is these gray spaces that make grace an absolute necessity. And in navigating those gray spaces, we find the truth of how much Christ loves us and the capacity He gives us to love others.
Grace for the Gray Spaces is a humble effort to acknowledge the complications of life with a Christ-centered worldview. If you’re discovering how to live this beautiful life amidst the soul crushing disappointments that are inevitable in a fallen world, I hope you’ll find some encouragement.
