He was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes were seeking to destroy Him, but they did not find any thing they could do, for all the people were hanging on His words.

The stark difference in the reaction to Jesus between those in power and the everyday, discarded, and marginalized who were desperate for Messiah, is telling.
And I cannot help but think it is instructional.
Father, teach us this week – and in the weeks that follow – to not waste our focus on protecting power and influence. Rather, keep us tightly focused on the One who expands access and teaches love.
