Guided Prayer
31 Days of Prayer with Beth Moore – I love me some Beth Moore. We go way back to those really long, in depth Bible studies with the DVD’s. So, when she says we are praying together for 31 days, I say “Yes, ma’am.” This one looks like a great guided prayer resource and I’m hoping to follow it this month for a refresh and refocus.
Podcast
EnneaSummer 2021 with Annie F. Downs – I have loved these series in past summers, but I have to say I think this summer is the best. Annie continues the model of having two people from each number on each episode. But, this summer she’s including insight from Suzanne Stabile, and they are diving deeper into where each number goes in times of stress and health. I, of course, started with my own number (hello, 3’s!), and found it to be so insightful. Great way to get to know yourself (and the people in your life) more deeply.
Book
Guests of the Ayatollah by Mark Bowden – I am old enough to have vague memories of the Iran hostage crisis. I have found the end of the Internet on the backstory on the movie Argo. But, I have never taken a deep look at the experience of the Americans held in the Iran embassy takeover. This book, from the author of Black Hawk Down, is fantastic. It is an in-depth look at many angles of this crisis and was really compelling. I listened on Audible and the author is the narrator. If you have any interest in history, this one could be a good summer read/listen.
