Podcasts
Governor Bill Haslam on That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs – Until now, I’ve not really been aware of Bill Haslam, former governor of Tennessee. This podcast changed that and I cannot recommend it enough. This discussion about how we can be people of faith and be in the public square is exactly what our country needs right now. This conversation blessed me deeply, and I ordered his new book the minute this episode ended.
“Therapy and Theology: Stop the Shame Scripts Holding You Back” on Proverbs 31 podcast – This is another great episode that is sort of a part two for the one I recommended last week about shame and guilt. I liked how this one took it a step further to look at how we talk to ourselves…and why we do that.
Music
Live from the Woods Volume 2 from NEEDTOBREATHE – A new live album from a great venue. This one has been on repeat since it was released recently.
Food
Nature’s Intent Cauliflower Rice – Yes. We’re at the point that I’m writing about cauliflower rice. But, hear me out. This stuff is amazing, and…it is not frozen. Yes. You heard me. I found this at Costco recently and gave it a whirl. It is in portioned packets (six came in the box I got from Costco), and when you are ready to use it, you massage the packet, squeeze it into a saute pan, add a little olive oil and water, and warm it up. We’ve had it as a side with roasted chicken, lemon caper chicken, and next week I’m trying it with a pepper steak recipe my people love. This stuff is so good my youngest always wants seconds.
